Sergio Garcias wife reveals golfers shock split from manager after missing Masters cut

Sergio Garcia missed the cut for the sixth time in his last seven starts at the Masters, but he’s still making news.The Spanish golfer’s wife confirmed that Garcia left his longtime managers — Carlos Rodriguez and Irek Myskow — due to what was called a “conflict of interest.”According to Garcia’s wife, Angela, the change was made months ago and she noted that Rodriguez’s involvement with a different LIV Golf team than the one Garcia is a part of led to the split.“Carlos Rodriguez is a wonderful guy and we have a wonderful relationship.But he’s now the general manager of Torque, so it’s a conflict of interest,” Angela Garcia said, according to Golfweek.Additionally, Angela Garcia said Myskow shouldn’t work with Sergio because Myskow is the general manager of Garcia’s LIV team, Fireballs.
Garcia is the captain of the team.News of the change follows rumors that Angela Garcia had taken over as her husband’s manager.Instead, the job went to Andrew DiLallo, who works for Fireballs and has also served as senior VP of sporting operations for Austin FC, the MLS team located in the city where Garcia resides.Asked this week about no longer working with Garcia, Rodriguez said, “It’s just something personal, so I don’t want to talk about it.” On Friday, he added, “We are still very close and I talk to the family all the time.”According to Spotrac, the 45-year-old Garcia has earned over $45 million on the PGA Tour, as well as $38 million with LIV Golf since heading to the league in 2022.Garcia last won the Masters in 2017, but has played well this season with LIV, despite not making it to the weekend at the first major tournament of the year.He shot a 72 in the first round, but followed with a 76, as Garcia was one of several big names to miss the cut....
