Diamondbacks mount 10-run inning and still lose to Cubs in bonkers game at Wrigley Field

It doesn’t get much crazier than Friday’s Diamondbacks-Cubs game. Through six innings, the Cubs held a 2-1 lead in what appeared to be a ho-hum mid-April game at Wrigley Field. Then things hit the fan. Chicago dropped a five-spot in the bottom of the seventh inning, seemingly putting the Diamondbacks away for good.Arizona would bounce back and then some a half-inning later, exploding for 10 runs during a rally for the ages in the top of the eighth inning to take an 11-7 lead. The run barrage didn’t stop there. The Cubs would counter with a six-run rally in the bottom of the eighth inning, retaking the lead, 13-11. The teams combined for seven home runs, including two grand slams off the bats of Eugenio Suarez and Ian Happ. Lourdes Gurriel Jr.also added a three-run home run during that wild Diamondbacks eighth inning. A combined 12 players had multiple hits in the game. It was the first time this season both teams scored 10-plus runs in a game....
