Steelers owner Art Rooney II believes Aaron Rodgers wants to come here with decision looming

The Steelers are expecting good news on Aaron Rodgers.Steelers owner Art Rooney II said in a radio interview Friday that the embattled quarterback “does want to come here” and could let the club know his intentions in the near future.“We’re still kind of getting the same signals that we’ve been getting recently,” Rooney said to Steelers Nation Radio.“He does want to come here, so I do think we may get word soon.”Pro Football Talk also cited a source saying Rodgers and the Steelers could make it official as soon as next week.Rodgers’ time in New York came to an appropriately messy end when newly hired head coach Aaron Glenn cut him in February, a move that left Rodgers steaming after he flew across the country to meet with Glenn.The 41-year-old Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” that Glenn did not show him “ample respect” by having him fly from California to meet instead of cutting him over the phone.“That was kind of strange,” Rodgers said.“I think we are going to have this long conversation.
