Sinners reigns at box office for second straight week

“Sinners” is still stirring up trouble in the box office, beating out all the other movies for the second week in a row.The horror film, which was fittingly released on Good Friday, took in $13 million this Friday, according to The Numbers.The Michael B.Jordan-starring flick, which cost $90 million to produce, is slated to hit the $100 million-dollar domestic mark on Saturday, according to Variety.
As of now, it’s on track to become the second-best grossing second weekend for an R-rated horror movie after 2017’s “It,” as per Deadline.In the second spot was Disney’s re-release of “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith,” which earned $11.3 million.The 2005 film, which is expected to rake in around $20 million in total this weekend, returned to theaters in time for its 20th anniversary.
“The Accountant 2” landed in third, with a $9.43 million take.The action thriller, starring Ben Affleck as a CPA, is the sequel to the 2016 original.
