Sauce Gardner pokes fun at Saquon Barkley controversy over Trump golf outing

Sauce Gardner poked a little fun at the criticism of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley on Monday. Barkley, who helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl title last season after leaving the Giants in free agency, was criticized for golfing and traveling with President Donald Trump over the weekend.The star rusher fired back at his critics in a social media post — and Gardner, a golfer himself, seemingly had some fun with the whole thing and chimed in on a post on X. “My main thing is why didn’t y’all ask him how he played in the golf round first before the political opinions.He coulda PR’d out there on that course,” the Jets corner wrote, presumably about the Barkley situation, along with a grinning face with sweat emoji.Barkley had played a round of golf with the President at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday – the day before the Eagles’ visit to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl title from earlier this year. The Eagles’ running back had also been photographed at the White House on Sunday with Trump’s grandson, Theodore Kushner, and was seen getting off Marine One at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey with Trump before boarding Air Force One. Barkley responded to the criticism in a post on X on Monday ahead of the team’s White House visit. “Lol some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT,” he wrote.
