George Kittle inks $76 million extension after 49ers contract drama

George Kittle is staying in San Francisco for the foreseeable future.The 49ers locked down the veteran All-Pro tight end with a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension that includes $40 million guaranteed.Kittle, 31, who’s played his entire career in San Francisco after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, shared the news first with Will Compton and Taylor Lewan’s “Bussin With The Boys” podcast.Last week, Kittle disputed a report by The Athletic that he was in the midst of a holdout over contract-related issues with the 49ers.However, He did not show up for the team’s voluntary offseason activities.The six-time Pro Bowler was entering the final year of his previous deal he signed in 2020, which made him the highest-paid NFL tight end ever at the time.Kittle is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he led 49ers in receiving yards, touchdowns and catches.Through eight NFL seasons, Kittle has 538 receptions for 7,380 yards and 45 touchdowns.Kittle has said he wants to end his career as a 49er and this contract may now allow him do that....
