Yankees Carlos Rodon authors another strong outing after perfect first five innings

“Big lead, just try to attack the zone.It’s kind of in the back of your head, but you just keep going.”The end result was still an impressive one as Rodón gave up just two hits over six-plus innings while striking out seven and walking one.Over his past three starts, Rodón has allowed just three runs (two earned) over 19 innings with 24 strikeouts.
The one walk was his lowest of the season as he lowered his ERA to 3.43.“I thought he had electric stuff tonight,” manager Aaron Boone said.“Again had everything going.
The fastball was really crispy.Just a really good job by him.”The Yankees made Rodón wait a while between his last pitch in the bullpen and his first pitch of the game, but he did not mind that much because they were busy giving him a 5-0 lead.While he threw weighted balls down in the tunnel to stay loose during some of the longer innings, Rodón said he was just focused on filling up the strike zone and staying aggressive.“It’s easy when the boys put up five runs in the first,” Rodón said.
