Jodie Foster refused to make a cameo in Freaky Friday sequel after starring in 1976 film

Jodie Foster isn’t feeling freaky.The Oscar winner, 62, allegedly declined to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming “Freaky Friday” sequel with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis — after starring in the original 1976 movie that kicked off the body-swapping franchise.“We begged her,” said “Freakier Friday” director Nisha Ganatra in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.“She’s not going to do it,” Ganatra, 50, added about Foster.The Post has reached out to Foster’s rep for comment.Foster and Barbara Harris starred in the first “Freaky Friday” movie based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel.Nearly 30 years later, Curtis, 66, and Lohan, 38, starred in the 2003 remake as a mother-daughter duo who switch bodies.They’re returning for “Freakier Friday,” which comes out this summer.Ganatra told EW she “never found out why” Foster didn’t want to be in the sequel.“I think we were going to make her the principal at the school,” Ganatra shared.

She explained that there were talks of replacing Anna’s (Lohan) principal, Mr.Bates, with Foster “when we didn’t know if [Stephen Tobolowsky] would come back.”“Honestly, we tried everything,” the filmmaker added.

“We were like, ‘What about this?'”Andrew Gunn, a producer on the remake, previously revealed that he wanted Foster to play the mother role in the 2003 film, but the actress declined because she was concerned her casting would be a distraction, according to E!
